RTVD will premiere "Los Trinitarios"

Next Monday, Dominican history will be told in a new way with the premiere of " Los Trinitarios," the first animated series from the Dominican Republic created using motion capture and CGI technology.
The launch will be carried out by Dominican Radio Television ( RTVD ), channel 4, within the framework of the Santo Domingo International Book Fair ( FILSD 2025 ), in the Plaza de la Cultura.
With a visual style inspired by international productions like Avatar, the project represents a milestone in national television, combining a historical narrative with a modern, family-friendly format.
The series, consisting of eight episodes, recreates the key events that led to the proclamation of National Independence on the night of February 27, 1844.
"More than an animated series, it's an educational platform adapted to the new generations. It will help children and young people assimilate Dominican history in a different and engaging way," said Iván Ruiz, general director of RTVD and executive producer of the project.

The series was directed by filmmaker Luis Cepeda, who emphasized that the narrative is based on the work of historian José Gabriel García, as well as on the notes of Rosa Duarte.
In addition, it has been carefully endorsed by a team of six historians, including Juan Daniel Balcácer , General Soto Jiménez (armament advisor) and members of the Duartiano Institute and Efemérides Patrias.
"There's nothing in the image that hasn't been corroborated. Everything is based on reliable historical sources ," Cepeda assured, emphasizing that although the series includes fictional elements necessary to tell a compelling story, it has remained faithful to the historical facts.
Free accessDuring the event, it was also announced that this is a gesture that reinforces his educational and public service vocation. Iván Ruiz indicated that all Dominican television channels will be able to broadcast the series free of charge.
"I feel like this project doesn't belong to anyone in particular. We want Los Trinitarios to have the widest possible reach. We want the channels to broadcast it, to revisit it, so that young people and the general public can receive it. It's a way to convey our story in the audiovisual language they consume today," Ruiz said.
Although the content addresses harsh moments in national history, the series has been designed for a broad audience , including children, young adults, and adults. "It's made with the rawness that the era implies, without half-baked, without exaggerating, but without minimizing just enough," Cepeda explained.
With this project, RTVD seeks to establish a new model of visual education , using television, one of the few free media accessible to all, as a tool to reinforce national identity.
